I was diagnosed with genital herpes this past monday 3-15-10. And I tell ya what I was so devastated and really upset about it. I'm dating a wonderful man at this moment and I immediately told him what the doctor had told me about my test results. I'm curious how others are dealing with having herpes and how you moved on with your life and not let it control you?

I found out in February 2007 and I still haven't been able to deal with it. The first thing we need to do is accept that we are ill and try and live with it. Not to be ashamed of it, that is for me the hard part to do.

Not to be ashamed of it, that is for me the hard part to do. I have accepted the fact that I have herpes and have moved on... I feel great and not lettting it run my life at all. I can still go out with friends have a good time and not even think about it. I have also looked into getting to know Him better and reading the bible and praying daily and this has helped me out tremendously. Not saying everyone should try this because everyone has different views on religion but I know it has helped me out alot. I'm even going to church this sunday and I honestly cant wait to meet people in church. |

I found out almost 5 years ago and I am still having a hard time with it. I dont know if i got it from my first boyfriend at 16 or my husband at 25. But now that i am single it is hard to imagine who would be ok with sleeping with someone who has H.

I just found out last week.... and its terrible...though it has gotten better today, these symptoms are tough...
I know life goes on, I think i need friends now to help me move on. My GF has HSV -1 and it got transfered to my groin. She has no HSV-2 outbreaks. I am lucky that i like her and she is really upset too, but I need some words of support. Mike |

My bf and I have been together for 6 months..this diagnosis came out of nowhere...I think i got it when i had my Brazilian wax a week ago. Seeing as he was away for 2 months I didn't have sex for over 50 days...and then he comes back and BAM! I have Hell (that's my code word) We are both trying to cope with this but it is hard..He's not sure he has it yet but he is scared and we spent the whole night together crying on the phone..this is tough
